You’re Invited: A Celebration of Arts, Culture, and Community at Pynelogs – July 1st, Noon to 3PM

This Canada Day, the entire Columbia Valley community is warmly invited to an unforgettable celebration of creativity, culture, and connection at one of the region’s most cherished landmarks — the Pynelogs Cultural Centre and Art Gallery in Invermere.

From 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., right after the vibrant musical parade in downtown Invermere, the beautiful lakefront grounds of Pynelogs will transform into a lively open-air festival. With majestic trees, shaded lawns, and a view that takes your breath away, this free family-friendly event offers something for everyone.

What to Expect:

Live Outdoor Music Concert (Noon–3PM): Enjoy three hours of fantastic live performances from talented local musicians while you relax on the lawn or enjoy the view from the Pynelogs terrace.

Artisan Market: Explore an exciting array of craft and art stalls showcasing local makers, Indigenous products, exotic wood furniture, books by local writers, and much more.

Family Fun Zone: Kids will love the giant bouncy castle, inflatable carnival, and interactive games throughout the gardens.

Face Painting & Crafts: Creative activities for kids of all ages, with fun stations for face painting and hands-on crafting.

Community Mural Project: Get creative with Black Star Studios and help paint a live community mural — a collaborative art piece celebrating our shared local spirit.

Art Exhibition: Step inside the historic 100-year-old log building to see the latest art exhibition on display in the Pynelogs Gallery, featuring artists from across the Columbia Valley.

Food & Refreshments: It’s the perfect time for lunch! Enjoy delicious bites from food vendors and drinks from the Pynelogs coffee counter.

Whether you’re browsing artisan stalls, painting with the community, enjoying live music, or playing with the kids in the fun zone, this event is a celebration of what makes our valley so special.

Volunteer Opportunities

Columbia Valley Arts is currently seeking a team of approximately 10 volunteers to help manage the Family Fun Zone during the Mountain Mosaic Festival on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
 
Volunteers will be responsible for:
* Greeting and welcoming children into the Fun Zone;
* Collecting the $5 entry fee;
* Having parents/guardians sign the responsibility waiver;
* Providing each child with a wristband;
* Ensuring fair play and rotation among all children using the activities.
 
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a lively community event while helping create a fun and safe space for families.

A five -member memoir-writing group originally based out of Pynelogs under the mentorship of Sharron Chatterton has continued working together for the past two-plus years.

Kimberly Olson

New Year Yoga will start Tuesday evenings on January 14th through to the end of February.

A fitting combination of meditation, gentle hatha yoga, then finish with restorative yoga and therapeutic touch among local art, Kimberley will combine all her passions and continue her warm, hands-on teaching approach to help students find deep relaxation and restoration so they have more sustained energy for their daily lives.
